Innisfree Youth Enriched Orchid Cream Review

Innisfree youth enriched orchid cream

After trying a sample of the Innisfree youth enriched orchid cream, I knew I needed to try the full size and review it’s long term results. Innisfree is a Korean beauty brand that makes affordable and effective skincare. I’m excited to review this cream because it is my new favorite!

Consistency

The Innisfree youth enriched orchid cream has a rich creamy formula that is great for normal to dry skin. The formula glides on the skin like butter. This cream is light enough to wear in the day with sunscreen and thick enough to wear at night with an oil (I use Vitamin E oil at night). It’s definitely the best of both worlds! Innisfree also makes a lighter version gel cream of the youth orchid cream if you have combo or oily skin. Since I have dry skin, this is a great fit for me!

Scent

This Innisfree cream has a lovely floral fragrance that isn’t too strong. I don’t typically like florals, but this one does not smell like an old lady haha. I really enjoy the scent because it is very light and fresh. The scent does not linger after rubbing it into the skin, but if you’re extremely sensitive to fragrance, I would not recommend this cream for you.

Highlighted Ingredients

Orchid Elixir 2.0– to firm the skin and protect from environmental pollutants. This seems to be a custom ingredient from Innisfree because it is trademarked.

Hyaluronic Acid– (from Jeju green soybeans) to hydrate and plump the skin

Peptides– amino acids to strengthen and firm the skin

*This cream is free of sulfates SLS, SLES, parabens, and phthalates.

*No youths were harmed in the making of this cream 😉

How does it perform under makeup?

This cream works as an excellent prep for makeup. The rich formula helps my foundation glide onto the skin. Since I have dry skin, I love using this cream to give me a nice hydrated base for foundation so my makeup doesn’t look cakey. I would recommend waiting at least 10 minutes after applying this cream to put foundation on or else it will sheer out your foundation. I never had any problems with my makeup pilling off when I used this cream to prep.

Price

The Innisfree youth enriched orchid cream retails for $29 for 1.69 ounces at Sephora. Considering the quality of this cream, this is a pretty awesome price. Other creams I’ve used in the past like the Laneige water bank cream and the Glow Recipe banana cream are about $40.

Packaging

I honestly think this cream is cheaper because of the plastic packaging as opposed to glass. I wish it was glass to be more environmentally friendly, but other than that, the jar is very easy to get the cream out of. This plastic jar is recyclable. I really love the purple color; it looks cute on my vanity tray.

Results

Overall, I was so impressed with the Innisfree youth enriched orchid cream that I’ve already repurchased several jars! I hadn’t found any cream that I loved more than the Laneige water bank cream until I found this one from Innisfree. Plus, it’s $10 cheaper than the Laneige one! The formulation works so well for hydrating my dry skin in a desert climate. I also love that this cream plays well with others and by others, I mean sunscreen, makeup, and Vitamin E oil. Well done, Innisfree!

Oooh! I love trying on trial sizes before committing to the full purchase. Saves money upfront if you end up not being interested. It is great that Innisfree youth enriched orchid cream feels good and works great. Always important to have some nutrients on your skin to take care of yourself. Big plus that the scent isn’t strong or bad. It is always nice when there is cream that works well with makeup! Glad it helps with your foundation! Glad you loved it and it works!! Need to give this a try someday :).

I like trial sizes to make sure I don’t have any kind of allergic reaction to a product before purchasing! It’s so jarring to take a chance on an expensive product when you’re not sure if it will work for your skin. I know some people are sensitive to fragrances, but I absolutely love how this cream smells! I hope you have a chance to try it someday 🙂

This cream sounds promising! The orchid scent sounds lovely. Not too overpowering.

Yes the scent of this cream is quite lovely! It reminds me of luxury creams without having an overpowering scent whatsoever.
