Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream Review

Laneige water bank moisture cream

After trying the Laneige water bank moisture cream in a beauty subscription box, I was hooked by the results. I’ve repurchased this cream so many times over the past year. I mentioned it briefly back in November, but I have so many more thoughts and details to share today. I have to say, it’s truly one of my favorite creams ever!

Consistency

The Laneige water bank moisture cream has a very buttery consistency that sinks into the skin. This cream is formulated specifically for dry to normal skin so I definitely would not recommend if you have oily skin. Because I have really dry skin, I use this cream morning and night. If your skin isn’t super dry, it would make for a great night cream. It keeps my skin so hydrated, even in the desert climate that I live in. This cream is on the thicker side, but it’s not too thick. It never feels so thick that it’s pore clogging.

Scent

This cream has a moderate amount of clean scent. I never really noticed the scent too much and it fades after application. If you are very sensitive to perfumes, I would watch out for this one, but it really isn’t that noticeable to me.

Highlighted Ingredient

This moisturizing cream is formulated with green mineral water which is derived from brussel sprouts, artichoke, and lima beans to keep the skin hydrated. I love skincare that has plant derived ingredients like this one (just a note, this is not a clean beauty product). It has veggie ingredients in it, but don’t worry, it doesn’t smell like brussel sprouts or any other vegetable you don’t want to smell like haha 😉

How does it perform under makeup?

The Laneige water bank moisture cream provides an amazing base for makeup! The smooth buttery formula really preps the skin for foundation and makeup application. This cream never pills under makeup! I love how glowy and fresh my foundation looks when used with the Laneige water bank moisture cream. The creamy formula gives my makeup a hydrated base to stick on to.

Price

The Laneige water bank moisture cream is $38. Because this cream made such a difference in my skin and performed so well under makeup, it is well worth the price for me! I use this cream in the morning and at night so it lasts me about a month.

I hope you have been enjoying these single product reviews! I really love going more in depth into products instead of giving the gist of things. After using the Laneige cream for a year, I have decided to branch out. I am currently trying out the Glow Recipe banana souffle moisture cream. A review on that will come soon!

Have you ever tried anything from Laneige?

The moisturizer you use to prep your makeup is so important! A moisturizer can really make or break how foundation looks on the skin.

It is great that the Laneige water bank moisture cream worked really well for you! It is great when you found a cream that works nicely. I haven’t tried it before but love the sounds of it. Though, it might not be for me because I have oily skin :/. It is great that the scent has a nice balance. The price isn’t bad at all! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this 🙂

Ah yes if you have oily skin, this probably wouldn’t be a great fit for you. I live in the desert and I have extremely dry skin so thick moisturizers are a must for me haha! I am also really happy with the price point. I tried to keep my skin care products under $40 for the most part and Laneige has great products at the price point.

Great recommendation, as my current cream has a very strong fragrance and I cannot stand it. The fact that this one fades sounds very interesting.

Thank you Natalia! I really enjoyed this Laneige cream. What cream are you currently using? I know a lot of people have fragrance sensitivities!

  13. Jenelle | 5th May 20

That sounds good. I haaaaate when I get pilling on my skin while I’m trying to do my makeup. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Laniege Lip Mask but I’ve yet to try anything from them. xx Jenelle | inspiringwit.com

    • Jill Gilbert | 5th May 20

Omg pilling is seriously the worst! It’s like why did I even put something on my face if it’s just going to flake off haha. I have had a really great experience with this cream! I haven’t tried their lip mask, but they make a glowy lip balm in a berry flavor that I am literally obsessed with haha.
