SKIN1004 Hyalu-Cica Sun Serum Review

After the SKIN1004 Hyalu-Cica sun serum went viral on Tiktok, I knew I needed to try this as a connoisseur of Korean sunscreens! I saw so many reviews claiming this sunscreen had no white cast and a lightweight formula. I couldn’t wait to try this sunscreen on my medium toned, dry skin! Let’s see if the SKIN1004 Hyalu-Cica sun serum lives up to the Tiktok hype.

*This post was kindly sponsored by SKIN1004 for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica Sun Serum

Consistency

The SKIN1004 hyalu-cica sun serum has a lightweight consistency somewhere between a gel and a cream. You might even say it has a “goldilocks” texture, not too thick and not too thin, the consistency is just right! As I have dry skin and live in the desert, I typically lean towards thicker cream sunscreens so I wasn’t sure if this would be hydrating enough on top of my regular moisturizer, but I was pleasantly surprised. This sun serum is formulated with a blend of hyaluronic acid and centella asiatica making it moisturizing and soothing for the skin!

I use 4-5 pumps in the morning on top of my regular cream moisturizer and I love that the formula is hydrating without feeling greasy on the skin. It leaves a beautiful glow that seems to blur the pores making it perfect for no makeup days. This sunscreen is a great fit for all skin types due to its perfect consistency!

Type of Sunscreen

The hyalu-cica sun serum is a chemical sunscreen which means the active ingredients absorb the UV rays so they don’t penetrate and damage the skin.  I prefer chemical sunscreens like this one over mineral sunscreens because they don’t leave a white cast on the skin. I had no issues with this sunscreen leaving a white cast on my medium toned skin! This sunscreen has a SPF of 50+ which fits with the dermatologist recommended SPF range of 30-50.

Korean sunscreens are also measured by the PA system (Protection Grade of UVA). The SKIN1004 sun serum has a PA rating of PA++++ which offers extremely high protection against UVA rays. UVA rays are the primary cause of skin aging so I’m excited to see this sunscreen offers such high UVA protection.

Highlighted Ingredients

Hyaluronic Acid- hydrates the skin

Centella Asiatica- soothes redness and irritation as well as prevents acne (this is truly one of my favorite skincare ingredients!)

Scent

The SKIN1004 sun serum has a very light “sunscreen-y” scent that fades upon application. This sunscreen would be friendly for those who are sensitive to fragrances in skincare as there is no fragrance added in the formula.

How does it perform under makeup?

My biggest pet peeve when it comes to sunscreens is pilling and I’m happy to report this sunscreen does not pill under makeup! The dewy glow it leaves on the skin is the perfect base for foundation and other makeup products.

Price

Okay just when you didn’t think this sunscreen could get any better, wait until you hear the price! The SKIN1004 sun serum retails for only $15 for 1.69 ounces on their website. I truly love the affordable and high quality formulas K-beauty has to offer. For sunscreens, I budget between $10-$25 so this sunscreen fits perfectly into that range. The hyalu-cica sun serum is available on SKIN1004’s official website, Amazon, and Stylevana.

Packaging

The hyalu-cica sun serum comes in a unique pump tube I quite enjoy. As I mentioned earlier, I use 4-5 pumps in the morning. I like that the pump is airtight and hygienic. I took this sunscreen on an airplane with me over Christmas and I had no issues with leakage in my bag. No complaints in this department!

Final Thoughts

Overall, I was extremely impressed with the SKIN1004 sun serum. This sunscreen met all my needs: no white cast, moisturizing without feeling greasy, affordable, dewy, and high sun protection. I have truly found my new favorite sunscreen. I’ve been using this every day, I’m almost through my first tube and I’ll definitely be keeping this in my routine.

Have you tried SKIN1004 yet?

    Hey Jill,

I am happy to see new updates on your sites! Your long reviews going detail by detail with the help of these wonderful pictures are also nice to check 🙂 I also like that you are creating like a big archive for skincare / beauty lovers 🙂

I have heard a few things about SKin1004 but I haven’t tried it… yet. But after reading your review I feel that this Sun Serum (an interesting name by the way) could help my skin since you mentioned that it is light but it helps to hydrate 🙂

And then if it doesn’t live a white cast that’s perfect for me!

I have to check out if they sell this brand over here 🙂
