Pyunkang Yul Intensive Repair Cream Review

Pyunkang yul intensive repair cream

I was excited to test the Pyunkang Yul intensive repair cream on my dry skin after hearing great things about it’s deeply hydrating texture. My skin type is naturally dry and I live in a dry climate. It can be tough to keep my skin hydrated in the wintertime when the air is extra dry without a good moisturizer on deck. Let’s get into today’s review to see if this cream passes the test with my dry skin!

Consistency

The Pyunkang Yul intensive repair cream has a rich, non-greasy texture. I’m extremely picky about moisturizers because of my very dry skin. I use this cream morning and night with great results! Since I started using this cream, I have not had any dry patches or flaky skin.

Scent

This Pyunkang Yul cream is formulated without fragrance! I don’t mind a little fragrance in my products, but fragrance in skincare is usually unnecessary. Fragrance can be irritating to some people’s skin and it can also cause headaches. If you and/or your skin are sensitive to fragrance, this cream and the entire Pyunkang Yul line would be a great fit for you!

Highlighted Ingredients

Peptides– add hydration to the skin and are rich in amino acids

Ceramides– reinforce the moisture barrier of the skin

Turmeric root– brightens dull skin

Shea butter– nourishes and hydrates

How does it perform under makeup?

The Pyunkang yul repair cream does not pill under concealer or foundation. Pilling is a major pet peeve of mine so I am always very critical of how creams perform as a makeup base.

I’ve noticed that creams like the Farmacy beauty honey halo cream and this Pyunkang Yul cream that have ceramides in the formula do not look as glowy on the skin. They have more of what I would describe as a radiant matte finish. I wouldn’t say this bothers me, but I do like to have a glowy base under foundation to avoid cakey or dry looking makeup. When using a ceramide cream like this one, I like to use a hydrating or glowy makeup primer like the Laura Mercier hydrating primer to get the sheer glow finish I desire for my foundation.

Price

This intensive repair cream retails for $22 for 1.7 oz on Pyunkang Yul’s website. For my moisturizer budget, I like to stay in the $30-50 range so this cream is actually under budget!

Packaging

I love the simple packaging of the Pyunkang Yul intensive repair cream. It is simple and has an apothecary vibe. The blue glass is so satisfying to scoop cream out of. The jar shape is not unique, but I love it because it isn’t difficult to scoop cream out of, even at the end of the jar. While I love a pretty jar, it’s irritating when you have to work too hard to get the last bit of cream out. Now that I’ve finished this cream, I peeled off the label and repurposed the jar to hold a couple rollerball perfumes!

Results

My skin never felt dehydrated or tight while using the Pyunkang Yul intensive repair cream. Sometimes during the winter, my skin becomes flakey around the nose because the air is so dry. This did not happen with this cream! Overall, this Pyunkang Yul cream is a really solid moisturizer for dry skin and anyone who is sensitive to fragrance or other irritants in trendy skincare. I will definitely repurchase this cream!

Have you ever tried the brand Pyunkang Yul? Are you or your skin sensitive to fragrance in skincare?

My skin always gets so dry, especially in winter, so anything light with great moisturising is my kind of a thing <3

My skin type is naturally dry so it feels even more dry in the winter too! It’s always good to use thicker moisturizers in the winter to cope with dry and dehydrated skin!

My skin is always so dry in the winter, so this product sounds wonderful! Also I’m loving that it does not have a fragrance! Thanks for sharing!

Ugh me too! I love thick creams like this year round for my dry skin, but most especially in the wintertime when things are extra dry. I don’t mind fragrance in skincare, but I know it can be irritating for some so this is such a great option for sensitive skin as well!

Yes I like a glowy look too. $32 is not a bad price point this sounds decent with lots of great ingredients. And ugh pilling that is annoying so good that this product does not so this. Great review.

Glowy skin definitely looks healthier than matte skin! I thought the price point was pretty good too. I love how effective the simple formula is! I hate pilling too!

Oh, I’ve never heard of this brand but this moisturizer sounds interesting. My skin can be pretty sensitive and I feel like fragrance in skincare is the irritating factor so having a moisturizer that won’t be irritating the skin sounds perfect!

I hadn’t heard of Pyunkang Yul either until I found it at Prude and Boujee! You would love the Pyunkang Yul line since there isn’t any fragrance or irritating ingredients. I know it must be difficult to find good skincare products without fragrance!

This cream is something I need to get my hands on asap hah! You know I too have such a dry skin, especially now that I am training a lot, chlorine just makes it worse. Funny thing is, I was looking at this same cream online the other day, wondering if I should try it. Your review could not have come at a better time! Thanks for sharing this gem with us xx
