Life Update: Moving and Kittens

Hi friends! I’ve really missed writing on my blog, this has been the longest time I’ve taken away from blogging since I started in 2019. I had to take some time off creating because of the big news I’m sharing today. My boyfriend, Cullen, and I moved into a new house!

Eviction

A little over a month ago, we received an unexpected eviction notice from our landlord. This news was pretty earth shattering for us because we were starting our fall semester three days after we got the eviction notice. For the first few weeks of school, we were searching for a new place to live on top of navigating our school and work schedules.

Guillerma

We were so relieved when we finally found a place, but also heartbroken that we would have to say goodbye to our friend Guillerma. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve seen a lot of Guillerma haha, but if you’re here for the blog, Guillerma is a neighborhood cat that started coming around to Cullen and I’s for food and occasionally spending the night during the winter frost.

I was so worried that Guillerma wouldn’t survive without us because I wasn’t sure if she had owners. I decided to attach a note to her to find the owner and within hours, I received a text from the owner. It was so funny because it turns out, Guillerma is actually a boy cat whose real name is Ablicocca (the Italian word for apricot <3). I guess I have to call him Guillermo now lol.

I’m so happy Guillermo has someone looking out for him, but I will still miss him dearly. He is so special to me because he provided me with comfort when I was missing my sweet kitty that passed away in January of this year.

The Move

We finally moved into our new place a few weeks ago! Moving into our new place on top of school and work was really stressful, but I am so grateful to be here now. We’ve spent the last few weeks deep cleaning and organizing. I’m so excited to see how the place will come along as we settle in. Our old apartment was the first place I ever lived outside of my parents house and the first place Cullen and I had together. There were a lot of special memories made there, but I know we will make many more in our new place <3

Kittens

After the move and recent traveling, we decided after our first night of sleeping in our new house, we were ready to bring home some kitties! We went to go pick them up at the humane society just yesterday. We are so in love with our boys already. They are little brothers and they’re very cuddly with each other. If you want to see regular updates on the kitties, I’m sure I’ll be posting about them on Instagram every day haha.

College

My final update is that I started my final year of college! I started school in 2018 and I’m planning on graduating in the spring of next year. Going to school during a pandemic has been incredibly difficult so I’ll be able to say with confidence when I accept my diploma, “I earned that sh*t” lol! I’m not sure what the plan will be once I finish school, but at least I’ll have a piece of paper that says I’m smart haha 😛

I’m really looking forward to catching up with you! What’s new in your life?

It’s great that you’ve found a new place! And your story with Guillerma/o is very sweet 🙂 We also have neighbourhood cats at home who visit for food and cuddles, so I totally understand why you’ll miss him!
