I found out about the Krave Beauty Kale-lalu-yAHA exfoliator on tiktok and I knew I needed it after hearing so many good things. I mentioned it in my August Favorites post so I’m happy to deliver the full review today. Between the great pun (Kale-lalu-yAHA like hallelujah) and the great testimonials, I’m excited to tell you whether this product is worth the hype! 

Type of Exfoliator

This Krave Beauty exfoliator is a chemical exfoliator. There are two types of exfoliators: chemical and physical. Chemical exfoliators use exfoliating acids like alpha hydroxy acids (AHA’s), beta hydroxy acids (BHA’s), etc. This exfoliator uses glycolic acid (AHA) to gently exfoliate the skin.

The Krave Beauty exfoliator can be used 1-2 times a week. This exfoliator is so unique in my opinion because you don’t wash it off! After cleansing, you apply this like a toner. I either pour a little bit directly onto my hands and press it in gently or I swipe it on with a reusable cotton round. It tingles a bit, but it is not an intense or irritating tingle. After applying the exfoliator, I follow up with my serums and moisturizers. The morning after I use this, my skin always looks so glowing and healthy!

Scent

This exfoliator is not formulated with any fragrance.

Kale-lalu-yAHA is the best exfoliator I’ve ever tried and it is only $25 for $3.73 per ounce (6.7 fl oz. total)! Krave Beauty was founded by beauty influencer Liah Yoo who gained skincare experience working at Amore Pacific, a major K-beauty brand. This is such an incredible price for a great exfoliator which is typical for K-beauty brands.

Packaging

The packaging of this exfoliator is so cute! I love that it is clear so I can see how much product I have remaining. The label is so easy to read and very cute as well. The best thing about the packaging is that it is 100% recyclable. I love that Krave Beauty is committed to being sustainable as a company. You can even pay an extra $1 to have your products shipped in a recyclable package!

Results

If I had to describe the Krave Beauty Kale-lalu-yAHA in one sentence, it would be “finally something that actually works”. I have had some bad acne since I was 18 or so. When one set of breakouts went away, another round would show up. With regular use of this exfoliator, I’ve seen a dramatic improvement in my acne and have finally seen my acne scars I’ve had for years begin to fade.

I’ve tried other exfoliators that were quite expensive like the Peter Thomas Roth exfoliating peel gel, the Kate Somerville Exfolikate, and the Boscia exfoliating peel gel that only seemed to make my skin more inflamed, red, and acne prone. I’ve learned that these types of physical exfoliators were far too harsh for my dry skin and were only making my acne worse. I’ve also noticed with regular use of this product that I don’t have flakey dry skin around my old breakouts or nose.

This Krave Beauty exfoliator is such an amazing gentle exfoliator that has made a major difference in my skin. I am so happy I found out about Krave Beauty on tiktok. I had really given up on seeing my acne improve. Even if you don’t struggle with acne, I would give this exfoliator a try because exfoliation is great to create glowing, healthy skin and help with the anti-aging process. Just make sure you wear a sunscreen with exfoliating products because they can make your skin susceptible to sun damage.

I was so impressed with this exfoliator, I started using the Krave Beauty matcha hemp cleanser which I already love (review coming soon). The Krave Beauty beet shield sunscreen and the great barrier relief serum are in my cupboard waiting for me to try. Overall, really impressed with the brand so far!
