After I saw the Innisfree ginger honey cream on my friend, Naya’s blog, I knew I needed to try it for myself. Naya has dry skin like mine so I knew this cream would work out for me especially since I’ve had great experiences with Innisfree creams before. I’m a big fan of honey in skincare so I was really excited to try this cream! Here’s my review of the Innisfree ginger honey cream:
The Innisfree ginger honey cream has a wonderfully rich consistency that hydrates my dry skin. Because I live in a desert climate (the humidity has been averaging about 30% lately!), it is tough to find creams that keep my dry skin hydrated. This cream did an excellent job of keeping my skin hydrated despite the dry winter air with the heater blasting all of the time. This cream is rich and moisturizing without feeling greasy whatsoever.
I absolutely loved the Innisfree orchid youth enriched cream over the summer. The ginger honey cream is slightly thicker which made it a great cream to switch over to for the winter months. I use this cream during the day with sunscreen and at night with an oil or with petroleum jelly. It works wonderfully for both day and night!
This cream smells like a light and sweet ginger dessert. The fragrance strength is moderate so if you are extremely sensitive to fragrance, I might stay clear of this one, but I was not bothered at all. The scent is noticeable upon application, but fades after a few minutes. I find the fragrance quite pleasant!
Ginger- antioxidant properties protect from free radical damage and aging
Honey- to moisturize and brighten; honey also has antibacterial properties
Shea butter- to hydrate and nourish
This Innisfree cream works as an excellent base for any makeup whether it’s a little concealer or a full face look. I have not had any issues with pilling when applying foundation. I like a rich hydrating cream like this to prep my makeup because my skin will still look dewy and natural after applying foundation. I hate the look of cakey, dull makeup which I avoid at all costs with my dry skin.
The Innisfree ginger honey cream retails for $28 for 1.7 ounces. I like to stay within the $30-$50 range when purchasing cream so this one is actually under budget! One of the many positives of Korean skincare is that high quality formulas are available for affordable prices!
This little orange jar that this Innisfree cream comes in is so cute! I love the bright, fun color. I think it reflects the highlighted ingredients, ginger and honey, in the cream very well. The jar is very lightweight and sturdy. I did not have any problems accessing the last bits of cream in the jar.
The Innisfree ginger honey cream easily makes my top favorite creams list along with the Innisfree orchid youth enriched cream and the Laneige water bank cream. As I mentioned earlier, it is tough to keep my dry skin hydrated in the desert and this cream was up to the job! I loved the rich hydrating texture and it worked so well with sunscreen and makeup during the day. I really loved this cream and I will absolutely repurchase in the future.
*While I was researching for this blog, I noticed that Innisfree added a ginger honey sleeping mask that I am now dying to get my hands on after trying this cream!

What a wonderful, in-depth review Jill! (also thank you so much for the trust, I am glad you loved this guy just as much as I did!). I am now curious about their sleeping mask as well. The toner is also really cool; it feels like a thick water and absorbs really well. It’s safe to say that Innisfree is a gateway drug to the world of K-beauty skincare hah! Hope you’re doing great dear xx

Thank you so much Naya! I’ve honestly bought so many products that you’ve recommended since I started reading your blog 🙂 I’m always happy with the products you recommend! I really want to try their sleeping mask too. I would love to try that toner! Oddly enough, I got a lot of toners for Christmas so I won’t be able to try soon, but I’ll add it to my list. Haha Innisfree really is a gateway drug into K-beauty haha!

Oooh!! I still haven’t tried products from Innisfree yet. I was thinking about trying out a gift set from Tatcha recently. I love the idea of a ginger honey cream. Both are so good for your skin. Big plus when it is extra hydrating – we need this especially during the winter. The packaging is so cute!! I love the lid! Glad you enjoyed the cream!!

Omg Nancy you need to try Innisfree! I have tried little samples from Tatcha, but I’ve never tried any of their products long term because they’re so expensive :/ I did recently read the CEO of Tatcha’s book about J-beauty. It was really cool to learn about J-beauty and the origins of popular ingredients in skincare today like rice.
