The Glow Recipe watermelon sleeping mask has become one of my favorite masks of all time. I got this mask over a year ago and it has truly become a staple in my routine. It has amazing skin loving ingredients and it boosts the glow of my skin.

Glow Boosting Ingredients

Watermelon Extract

This mask uses watermelons from Korea that go directly into the formula. Glow Recipe has a really cool IGTV video that shows how they make their mask and it’s pretty satisfying to see the watermelons be cut up and added to the formula.

The watermelon extract is added to hydrate and nourish the skin. Watermelon also has anti-inflammatory properties that help with acne and redness. Because of the real watermelon added, this mask truly smells like watermelon! To me, it actually smells a little more like watermelon rind, but in a good way.

AHA’s (Alpha Hydroxy Acids)

AHA’s are exfoliating acids that help to gently remove dead skin. This sleeping mask uses lactic and glycolic acids to gently exfoliate the skin and boost its glow. Exfoliation is important for all skin types, but it is especially effective at treating acne, dark spots, and wrinkles.

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is a hydrating ingredient that can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water. This ingredient is great for all skin types, especially dry skin. 

Peony Root

The peony root in this product is added to give even more glow and smoothness to your skin.

How to Use the Glow Recipe Watermelon Sleeping Mask

Use as an overnight mask

I absolutely love using this mask as an overnight mask because I feel like I get the most bang for my buck. I personally like applying one scoop of this mask over my moisturizer because I have dry skin. Glow Recipe recommends using 2 scoops of product as an overnight mask, but I just do one because sometimes the product can pill off a little bit when it’s thicker. When I use this product as an overnight mask, I always make sure to wash it off in the morning with a cleanser.

Use as a 10 minute wash off mask

This mask can also be used as a 10 minute wash off mask to get glowing skin fast! To use this mask as a wash off mask, apply a VERY generous layer. Like 3-4 scoops of product and then wash it off. I don’t do this very often because like I said, I feel like using this mask overnight is more cost effective because you’re giving it more time to do it’s magic and you use less product.

Use as a spot treatment for acne

After using this mask for over a year, I recently found out this mask can be used as a spot treatment for acne! To use as a spot treatment, I put on my moisturizer and then I apply the mask using a very small spatula directly to the zit. 

How Often Can the Glow Recipe Watermelon Mask be used?

According to the Glow Recipe website, this mask can be used everyday. I like to use this mask 1-2 times a week as an overnight mask, but I’ve recently been using it as a spot treatment everyday.

Why I Love the Glow Recipe Watermelon Sleeping Mask

Since I am not currently using any Vitamin C products, this product has been the most effective in helping to fade my post acne scars. Every time I use this mask, the scars look lighter and this has been so rewarding to see! It also helps treat current breakouts (especially since I started using it as a spot treatment). When I use this mask overnight, I wake up with radiant glowy skin that isn’t red. I will definitely be repurchasing this mask because it has become such a staple in my routine! 

Another amazing thing about this mask is that it is paraben free, sulfate free, phthalate free, cruelty free, and vegan! I used to be skeptical of clean beauty because I didn’t think it worked as well, but after trying products like this one, I learned that clean beauty can be just as effective, if not more so. Also, this mask comes in a recyclable jar! I feel really good about supporting such an ethically conscious beauty company like Glow Recipe.
