Glossier Review

Glossier is one of the most popular skincare-makeup brands that promotes accepting your skin the way it is. I started using Glossier a little over a year ago and I can guarantee once you try something from the brand, you’ll want to try everything. Today, I’m reviewing some of the most popular items from Glossier.

Milky Jelly Cleanser ($18)

After switching to this cleanser, I realized that my old Caudalie foaming cleanser really hadn’t been working for me. I can’t believe I had been using it for two years. When I started using this cleanser, I noticed that I was getting less breakouts. My breakouts aren’t completely gone, making me think maybe another product I’m using might be making me breakout…

Overall, I really like this cleanser. Milky jelly cleanser is slightly acidic which is really good for your skin. After cleansing, my face never feels dry or tight which is super important considering I have dry skin. While the cleanser is on your skin, it feels hydrating and slimy (in a good way). You can use this product to remove non-water proof makeup, but I prefer to use an oil cleanser as the first step in my double cleansing routine.

I think I would like to do a blog post review on multiple cleansers so I’m planning on testing out other cleansers when I run out of this bottle, but I would definitely repurchase. Milky jelly cleanser is very affordable ($3 per oz). This is also the cleanser I force my boyfriend to use and he really likes it as well! If you’ve been wanting to try this cleanser out, there is a mini size available if you aren’t ready to commit to the full size.

Priming Moisturizer ($22)

I purchased this moisturizer because my precious day moisturizer (First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream) was pilling under my foundation which I found very irritating. This moisturizer works really well under foundation. The moisturizer dries down pretty matte, but is still a great base for foundation.

My only complaint about this moisturizer is that I don’t think it’s quite hydrating enough for my dry skin. I live in the desert AND have dry skin so finding a day moisturizer that is light enough for day wear, but moisturizing enough has been tricky. I would repurchase this priming moisturizer again, but I think I’d like to look around and see if I could find a moisturizer that is a little better for my dry skin. Maybe I should try the Priming Moisturizer Rich, but it is more expensive 🙁

*If you have oily skin, I really think you would LOVE this moisturizer

Left (priming moisturizer) and right (milky jelly cleanser)

Haloscope Highlighter ($22)

This is a very natural looking, beautiful highlighter! I like to use it on days when I’m not wearing very much makeup. It gives a very healthy skin glow. It is extremely easy to use because you can just draw with the stick right on your face. With my medium tan skin, I usually prefer gold tones, but the shade Quartz, a “pearlescent” shade is a non-gold highlighter I really like. I think it would look good on all skin tones and I would definitely repurchase! If you want to read more about this highlighter, I go very in depth in this post, Reviews and Ranks of 9 Popular Highlighters.

Boy Brow ($16)

I LOVE this product. I have repurchased about 5 times and I will continue to repurchase, probably forever lol. I wear this pretty much everyday because it keeps my brow hairs in place and gives them an effortless look! The small applicator makes it very easy to apply and brush the hairs up. The formula lasts all day and never feels too heavy. I have it in the color brown for my dark brown brows, but it also comes in blonde, black, and clear. If you don’t really know how to do your brows or you like minimum effort with maximum results, this is the product for you!

Balm Dotcom ($12)

I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned this product on the blog before, but this is another all time favorite for me! I now have Balm Dotcom in mint, mango, and birthday cake because I am so obsessed. I play oboe so I often have dry lips from playing so this product really comes in clutch. The mint one is my absolute favorite flavor. I keep it in my bathroom because there’s nothing that makes me happier than brushing my teeth and then applying Mint Balm Dotcom for Mint². This balm goes on like butter and it lasts for a very long time. I think it takes about 3+ months for a tube to run out and I use it several times a day.

I really like birthday cake as well. It smells like vanilla and has a slight, very natural shimmer. Mango is probably my least favorite flavor, but I don’t hate it. It kind of smells like that Trident fruit gum. They just came out with a berry flavor that I will probably end up buying in the future lol.

*For $40, you can buy the Skincare set which includes the Milky Jelly Cleanser, the Priming Moisturizer, and the Balm Dotcom. Considering there are some skincare products that are $40+ just on their own, this is a major deal.

In the future, I would really like to try Generation G lipsticks, Colorslide eyeliner, and Vinyl Lip Lacquer/gloss. I’m pretty obsessed with Glossier tbh. I love that they feature unique women to model their products and their makeup always looks natural, but fun. I’m pretty sure the brand was started by a blogger which is super cool! The thing that is so special about this brand is that all of their products are just so easy to use and they’re made for real women.

I’ve only tried the cloud paint. So I am glad you did a review on more of Glossier’s stuff. I’m intrigued by the highlighter!

What did you think about the cloud paint? I tried my sisters and I actually prefer powder highlighters, but maybe I would have to mess with them more to like them!

You know I love the cloud paint as my everyday blush! Btw, if you decide to test cleansers you should try the CosRx low ph cleanser – it’s another low ph cleanser (obvi) like the Glossier but it’s super affordable. Like $12/bottle.

Yeah I was thinking I would try that one out! I was thinking CosRx, fresh soy cleanser, and the glow recipe one
