Cosrx Cica Cream Review

Cosrx cica cream

After trying a sample of the Cosrx cica cream, I knew I had to get my hands on the full size as soon as possible! I’ve had great experiences with the skin soothing effects of centella asiatica (cica) for my dry skin so I couldn’t wait to try this cica cream from one of my favorite K-beauty brands. Here are my thoughts on the Cosrx cica cream:

Cosrx cica cream

Consistency

The Cosrx cica cream has a consistency somewhere between a thick cream and a gel cream. Kind of a goldilocks texture if you will. As someone with extremely dry skin who lives in the desert, I do typically prefer very thick, buttery creams, but this was surprisingly hydrating without the thickness. The cica cream sinks easily into the skin leaving a soft, dewy finish without looking or feeling greasy on the skin.

I’m not a cosmetic chemist, but as someone who has tested countless moisturizers over the years, I’ve noticed most moisturizers either have an oil or a water based consistency to hydrate the skin. I would say the Cosrx cica cream is definitely on the water based side.

Scent

The cica cream has no fragrance added to the formula and no detectable scent. Those sensitive to fragrance can truly rejoice over the cica cream!

Highlighted Ingredient

Centella asiatica (AKA cica)– soothes redness and irritation; strengthens the skin barrier to prevent dryness and acne

How does it perform under makeup?

The cica cream has an outstanding performance under makeup. Since the moisturizer absorbs easily into the skin, it’s so easy to layer sunscreen and makeup over it without having to worry about dreadful pilling. This Cosrx cream is a great choice for makeup prep due to the dewy finish without a greasy texture.

Price

The cica cream retails for $32 for 1.69 ounces on the Cosrx website. I prefer buying Cosrx products directly from their site to avoid counterfeit products on Amazon. Cosrx also has really amazing sales on their products about once a month so it’s pretty easy to stock up on this cult K-beauty brand for less. They also have surprisingly quick shipping!

Packaging

The Cosrx cica cream comes in a soft, easy to squeeze tube. I have absolutely no complaints about the packaging since I didn’t have any issues with leakage or trouble squeezing the product out of the tube.

Results

Overall, I enjoyed the Cosrx cica cream as a lightweight, daytime moisturizer. I used this at nighttime as well, but my skin was feeling a little dry in the dead of winter so I would prefer to opt for something heavier for nighttime. While browsing the Cosrx website, I found they actually make a thicker version of this cream which I will absolutely be testing out on my dry skin!

I believe all skin types (including sensitive and acne prone) would love and benefit from the soothing and hydrating effects of the cica cream. Cica is known to soothe the skin and prevent breakouts making it an incredible choice for acne prone and sensitive skin! Cosrx did a great job with this moisturizer which comes as no surprise to me as the brand has so many incredible products!

Have you tried Cosrx?

Hey Jill, so happy to see a new blog post over here!

And as usual you have a new recommendation that I am adding to my beauty wishlist folder haha! I just bought the Caffeine Eye Cream by the Inkey List yesterday and I am planning to get the COS RX snail moisturizer next week… so maybe I should keep this Cica Cream on my radar too! I’ll see if I can get a sample since you are talking wonders about this products! I have tried Centella Asiatica in other products and it is the best to calm skin, specially during winter but also perfect for after shaving 🙂

I also highlight the fact that this product is essence free 🙂

Can we take a moment to appreciate these pictures?! They look super professional!
