The Beauty of Joseon dynasty cream has been on my list of products to try for quite some time. I absolutely adore several products from the brand including the relief sunscreen, the repair serum, and their centella asiatica calming sheet masks. This cream is the brand’s moisturizer for normal and dry skin. I couldn’t wait to test this out on my dry skin type! Here’s my thoughts on the Beauty of Joseon dynasty cream:
The Beauty of Joseon dynasty cream has a delightful texture somewhere between a gel and a cream consistency. I was expecting this cream to be a lot richer. I didn’t think this cream would work for my dry skin especially since I live in a dry desert climate. I was pleased to find upon application that while the dynasty cream is lightweight, it’s also immensely hydrating.
I tested this cream out in the middle of winter and I’m happy to report it was moisturizing enough for my dry skin! I also had the chance to test it out on a recent trip to the beach where I was sweating and it didn’t feel heavy or pore clogging. I would recommend this cream for those with dry or sensitive skin. If you have oily or combo skin, you might enjoy this as a richer nighttime moisturizer or a winter moisturizer.
The dynasty cream is formulated without fragrance or essential oils. This cream is truly fragrance-free as I get no detectable scent when applying it on the skin. The dynasty cream is a great option for those sensitive to fragrance.
Rice Bran Water (29%)- brightening and rich in amino acids and minerals that hydrate dry skin
Ginseng Root Water (5%)- rich with antioxidants that protect the skin from environmental damage
Squalane (2%)- balances oil and strengthens the skin barrier
Niacinamide (2%)- regulates sebum secretion
Oddly enough, the Beauty of Joseon dynasty cream pilled when paired with the Beauty of Joseon relief sunscreen under makeup. I found this strange and disappointing since I thought the two would be designed to work in tandem. I paired the dynasty cream with other sunscreens under makeup such as the Innisfree sunscreen and the Heimish artless glow base with no issues.
The Beauty of Joseon dynasty cream retails for $24 for 1.69 ounces at Soko Glam. For the quality of this moisturizer, this is a fantastic price. I usually try to stay between $30-$50 for my moisturizer budget so this is actually below budget for me!
The dynasty cream comes in an elegant jar with a delicate spatula to scoop the perfect amount of product hygienically. I haven’t had any problems with the jar, but this isn’t something I would want to travel with because it’s a heavy little glass jar. For travel, I would prefer a moisturizer packaged in a lightweight tube like the Cosrx cica intense cream.
Overall, I was very impressed with the Beauty of Joseon dynasty cream. I loved the lightweight, yet intensely hydrating formula. I wish it had paired better with the brand’s sunscreen, but it worked with other sunscreens so it wasn’t too much of an issue for me. I also really love the affordable price for this high quality formula!

This cream comes in a pretty jar, even though like you said, probably wouldn’t be the best to carry around since it’s a heavy jar. It sounds like a lovely cream minus it not cooperating with the sunscreen!
