Banila Co. Cleansing Balm Review

Banila Co. Cleansing Balm

I’m so excited to review the Banila Co. cleansing balm which was one of the first products I started using when I got into K-beauty five years ago. Cleansing balms are used in the double cleansing method which begins by removing makeup and sunscreen with an oil based cleanser like this one then following up with your typical foaming water based cleanser. Let’s get into today’s review!

Consistency

The Banila co. cleansing balm has a rich consistency. If you’ve ever used coconut oil for cooking and such, a solid cleansing balm is a similar concept. This balm starts as a solid oil. When rubbed between the hands, the balm is warmed and it turns into a liquid consistency. This balm cleanser is then applied on dry skin to remove makeup, sunscreen, and even waterproof mascara.

After rubbing the oil on dry skin for a minute, wash the cleanser off with water and the product will emulsify. This cleansing balm is easy to wash off and does not leave any film on the skin. This is literally the best cleansing balm I’ve ever tried. It always removes my makeup without stripping my skin.

Banila Co. Cleansing Balm

Scent

The Banila Co. cleansing balm has the most delightful scent! This balm smells like a light fruity sherbet dessert. The smell of this cleanser is not at all overpowering so I don’t believe it would irritate anyone sensitive to fragrance. This is the most perfect amount of fragrance I’ve ever encountered in a product.

Highlighted Ingredients

Vitamin E- rich in antioxidants and helps the skin repair itself

Vitamin C- rich in antioxidants and can fade hyperpigmentation over time

Price

The Banila Co. cleansing balm is sold at many different retailers for many different prices lol! While K-beauty is available for cheaper prices on Amazon, I always get a little sketched out buying products off of Amazon because sometimes products from third parties are sourced from dumpster diving. That being said, I’ve had good luck buying this oil cleanser from this link on Amazon for $22 for 6 ounces ($3.6 per oz).

This cleansing balm is available from more reputable sources from Banila Co., Soko Glam, and Ulta. This balm comes in different sizes, but I would highly recommend getting the 6 ounce jar because it is available for a couple more bucks than the 3 ounce jar making it an excellent deal.

Banila Co. Cleansing Balm

Packaging

The packaging of the Banila Co. clean it zero cleansing balm is absolute perfection! This pink jar is as practical as it is cute. I can throw this jar in my bag without worrying about it coming unscrewed. I honestly have no complaints about the packaging!

Final Thoughts

This is my favorite cleansing balm of all time! I have repurchased this jumbo size 7 times over the years. I like it significantly better than the Glow Recipe papaya cleansing balm. It never fails to remove my makeup. Using the clean it zero cleansing balm is a delightful experience of cleansing and moisturizing with a wonderfully light fragrance. If I have a few extra minutes while cleansing, sometimes I will massage my face to release muscle tension. Overall, this cleansing balm is one of my favorite Korean products of all time!

Have you tried the Banila Co. Clean It Zero cleansing balm?

Hey Jill, I hope you’re feeling better 🙂

I love your honest reviews and how you split them in every aspect of the product. Now we care about a lot of details, not only in how it works, but also about ingredients and packaging!

Seems a little pricey compared to other similar options, but since you need just a small bit and it also contains vit c (not that common in other similar products) seems good to me!

I don’t do double cleansing, just in the summer when I feel my face too oily, so this could be a good option for that season!

Your reviews are always so interesting.
Like I told you in Instagram I remember looking everywhere for the banila cleansing balm in Korea because my sister really wanted to test it.
I never tried it but I tried an other cleansing balm and it was my favorite cleansing product.
I love the texture. This is so interesting and really hydrating when the thick product became liquid on the face.
And The packing of this product is really cute in pik.

Oooo this sounds super good I may have to try this next time I am in the market for a cleanser. I do have Amazon Prime but am not sure about buying well know makeup/beauty brands from Amazon b/c anyone can set up shop on the platform there is no vetting so there a lot of fakes with dubious ingredients…
