2020 Gift Guide for Beauty Lovers

Urban decay ultraviolet palette

With Christmas rapidly approaching, I thought I’d write a 2020 gift guide for beauty lovers. Unfortunately, many of us beauty addicts are extremely picky about products so I’ve listed the best of the best products that any beauty lover would enjoy. Here’s my 2020 gift guide separated out by skincare, makeup, and hair products:

Skincare

2020 Gift Guide for Beauty Lovers

The Little Book of Skincare by Charlotte Cho ($25)

I have been learning and writing about Korean skincare for a few years now, but I still learned a lot from reading Charlotte’s book. Charlotte Cho is the CEO of Soko Glam (a popular online hub for Korean products) and licensed aesthetician. This is an excellent book for anyone just getting into skincare or longtime skincare experts.

I enjoyed reading this book because Charlotte tells many personal stories about her time working in Korea while learning about skincare culture and beauty routines there. One of my favorite stories she told is about how everyone in her office (even the men) had a personal humidifier, sunscreen, and hand cream at their desk. This book was awesome for me to brush up on my K-beauty knowledge as well as learning about new techniques!

Sheet Masks

2020 Gift Guide for Beauty Lovers

Skincare can be a tricky gift to buy someone if you don’t know their skin type. Getting someone sheet masks is a great gift for a skincare lover to pamper themselves so they’re not stuck with a cream that might not be right for their skin type. Here are some of my favorite sheet masks I’ve been loving lately:

Papa Recipe Honey Mask– ($3.50) honey is hydrating, antimicrobial, and helps the skin heal

Beauty of Joseon Centella Asiatica Mask– ($2.50) centella asiatic helps calm down redness and irritation, while soothing and hydrating the skin (this is a great one for maskne!)

Mamonde Camellia Flower Mask ($3)- camellia flower is moisturizing, anti-aging, and firming

Boie Co. Body Scrubber ($10)

I switched from a traditional plastic loofah (those fluffy ball shaped things at the drugstore) to the Boie Co. body scrubber three years ago and I haven’t looked back. I love my body scrubber because it is more sustainable and clean. Traditional plastic loofahs are very harmful to the planet because they’re not recyclable. They also harbor a lot of bacteria in the center because they never dry.

The Boie co. body scrubber makes a great gift for skincare lovers because it comes in lots of fun colors and it gently exfoliates the skin with its antibacterial spores. Even my boyfriend loves his body scrubber from Boie Co. I just sent my previous scrubbies back to Boie Co. to be recycled

Makeup

Fenty Gloss Bomb ($19)

The Fenty Gloss Bomb should be a staple in everyone’s kit! The gloss bomb is my favorite lip gloss ever because it is deeply hydrating and gives my lips a healthy glow. I can apply this gloss to dry chapped lips and it still looks great. Fenty gloss bomb comes in lots of colors. I haven’t tried the other colors yet, but I love “fenty glow”. This gloss is great because it can be worn with no makeup or a full face. You can see how beat up my gloss bomb is because it’s so well used!

Urban Decay Ultraviolet Palette ($49)

The Urban Decay ultraviolet palette was one of my favorite palettes of the year! This has such a fun range of peach and purple shades that can be worn day or night. The Urban Decay naked palettes always have beautiful and blendable colors. This palette makes such a great gift for any makeup lover. Full review of the Urban Decay ultraviolet palette here.

Haircare

Briogeo “Don’t Despair, Repair!” Deep Conditioning Mask ($36)

While I liked the Briogeo Be Gentle, Be Kind shampoo and conditioner duo, my favorite product from the brand is their “Don’t Despair, Repair!” deep conditioning mask. I use this mask about once a week to keep my long dry hair hydrated and healthy. This mask can be used in place of a conditioner.

My favorite way to use it is applying it in my hair and then shaving and exfoliating my skin to allow the mask to sit longer while I’m in the shower. The longer the mask sits, the more hydrated your hair will be! This is a great mask for anyone with dry hair and it’s especially good for wavy and curly hair that is prone to dryness and breakage.

Briogeo Scalp Massager ($16)

My other favorite product from Briogeo is their scalp massager. I was skeptical about this tool, but I bought it because I love having my scalp massaged. I was shocked by the results when I started using it with my shampoo because my scalp felt cleaner with each wash and it never feels itchy anymore. This helps remove product and dead cell buildup on the scalp for cleaner hair. This is especially good for people who use dry shampoo! Even my boyfriend loves this scalp rubbing brush. This would make a wonderful gift and it’s not something many people would think to get for themselves!

I hope you enjoyed this 2020 gift guide for beauty lovers! What’s on your beauty wishlist?
