My hairdresser recommended the Oribe moisturizing shampoo and conditioner to me after I told her about the dryness I experienced while using the Olaplex duo. I’ve heard so many great things about Oribe over the years so I splurged on this duo. The Oribe moisturizing set is specifically formulated to moisturize curly and coily hair. I would describe my hair as way and extremely dry due to the desert climate I live in. Let’s see if Oribe was worth the splurge!
The Oribe shampoo has a lightweight texture that doesn’t foam up in the hair. This shampoo cleanses dirt and oil out of my hair without drying or irritating my scalp. I love using this shampoo with my Briogeo scalp brush to remove buildup.
This conditioner has a moderately thick texture. For a conditioner this hydrating, I’m surprised the texture isn’t thicker. I always squeeze as much water out of my hair before applying this conditioner because the conditioner is very juicy in the hair. I leave the conditioner in my hair for 5-10 minutes and it feels so silky soft when I rinse it out.
This moisturizing duo smells incredible! The best way I could describe the scent is sexy pear haha! I believe there may be notes of jasmine as well. I adore the smell of this shampoo and conditioner. I do not find the fragrance overpowering. The scent subtly lingers on the hair after washing which is something I actually enjoy.
Shea butter and olive oil- to intensely moisturize the hair
Hydrolyzed vegetable protein- smoothes the hair cuticle and and prevents frizz
*Sigh* The Oribe moisturizing shampoo retails for $46 for 8.5 ounces ($5.40 per oz) and the conditioner is $49 for 6.8 ounces ($7.20 per oz). Together, the duo costs $98. Damn. This is easily the most expensive shampoo and conditioner set I have ever tried. I absolutely love this duo and I think it’s worth the price, but unfortunately, it doesn’t fit within my college budget.
The Oribe packaging is incredibly luxurious. I feel fancy as f*ck using these emerald green products lol. I didn’t experience any major issues with the bottles. I always squeeze these into travel tubes so I can’t say how the bottles perform on the go. My only complaint is that Oribe could use less plastic with the conditioner bottle. The plastic cap with the seal is huge and unnecessary.
The Oribe moisturizing shampoo and conditioner is easily the best wash duo I’ve ever used! My long hair felt so dry and brittle before I started using this duo. I feel like I could live without the shampoo even though I liked it, but the conditioner was definitely a game changer for me! I am moving soon and I’ll be on a tighter budget so I’m planning on using this conditioner once a week instead of twice so the bottle will last longer.

Hi Jill! Hope you’re having a lovely week and good luck with school!
First time I hear about this brand but it seems that you have good things to say about it! Anway I think it wouldn’t work for me since the weather here is really humid and my hair is really straight and it tends to get flat. Totally the opposite to the weather in Reno and to your hair!
But the experience from the packaging, the texture, the quality and the result seems really luxurious! And if we talk about luxury then comes…. the price, yep kinda expensive but at least you had the experience and maybe you can alternate this treatment with other shampoos and conditioners 😉
But then comes the plastic, I feel that nowadays brands have many resources to avoid plastic and go for other sustainable materials so this will be something that they could improve 🙂
PS: Beautiful photos as usual!

I always struggle to find the right shampoo for my hair.
This one looks so fancy I would love to try it but I’m not sure I’m ready to spend that much on a shampoo haha.
The bottle looks small too no ?
But the smell sounds so amazing !
And your pictures are beautiful like always.
I always love to read your products reviews.

You inspired me to try more from Oribe! I do have their texturizing spray as well as a hair mask, but I haven’t really explored much from the brand. It is pricey, but as long as it gives great results, I am here for it! By the way your hair always looks fantastic xx

I would love to try this combo – I’ve wanted to try Olaplex as well but the last thing I want is for the product to dry out my (bleached) hair… The price here is a bit steep but I’d be curious to try! Thank you for your review!
