I Dew Care Vitamin C Serum Review

I Dew Care Vitamin C Serum

Since Vitamin C serums are great for glowing skin, I was excited to try the I Dew Care Vitamin C serum. I used to use The Ordinary Vitamin C suspension 23% about a year and a half ago, but I stopped because the formula really irritated my skin. When I Dew Care gifted me the Bright Side Up serum, I was cautiously optimistic that I could reintroduce Vitamin C into my routine again.

Vitamin C is an amazing ingredient for fading dark spots, acne scars, and preventing damage from pollution. That being said, Vitamin C is a banger in skincare so I was excited to try this I Dew Care serum. Let’s get into today’s review!

* The Bright Side Up serum was gifted to me by I Dew Care. All opinions are my own.

Consistency

The I Dew Care Vitamin C serum has a lightweight jelly consistency. When applied to the skin, this serum does not feel sticky whatsoever. The serum is hydrating and absorbs quickly into the skin. I love using this Vitamin C serum in the morning to give me a nice dewy glow and protect my skin from pollution damage during the day. Since my skin can be a bit sensitive to Vitamin C, I only use this serum in the morning with great results.

Scent

The I Dew Care bright side up serum has a very fruity scent. It smells quite refreshing in the morning, but it is on the stronger side. I recently learned that fragrance can not only give some people headaches, but it can also irritate some people’s skin. If you or your skin are sensitive to fragrance, I would avoid this serum. Fragrance in beauty products is most often unnecessary, but it doesn’t typically bother me or my skin.

I Dew Care Vitamin C Serum

Highlighted Ingredients

Vitamin C– brightens skin and helps prevent damage caused by pollution

Grapefruit Extract– packed with Vitamin C and antioxidants to prevent premature aging

Vitamin E and B5– nourish and hydrate the skin

How does it perform under makeup?

This Vitamin C serum performs really well under makeup! When I apply moisturizer, sunscreen, and makeup, it never pills off my face. Since this serum absorbs so well into the skin, it works well with other skincare and makeup.

Price

The I Dew Care Vitamin C serum retails for $25 for 1 oz at Ulta. As far as serums go, this is a great price. I’ve seen Vitamin C serums run anywhere between $10 and $150 so all in all, this is a great price for a good serum. The bottle lasted me about two months using 3 drops a day in the morning so it lasted quite awhile.

Packaging

The packaging of the Bright Side Up serum comes in such a cute orange bottle! I’ve read that Vitamin C serums should be packaged in a dark or opaque bottle to avoid oxidation so maybe I Dew Care could consider opaque packaging. However, I did not experience any problems with this serum oxidizing or going bad. I really liked this bottle except for the last bit of serum was very difficult to get out and the opening of the bottle is quite small for the dropper.

Results

Overall, I had a really good experience with the I Dew Care Vitamin C serum. As I mentioned earlier, my skin has been prone to sensitivity from Vitamin C serums like The Ordinary Vitamin C serum in the past. I did not have any redness, irritation, or bumps using this serum. I Dew Care overall can be a bit of a gimmicky brand because they put more effort into fragrance and packaging with their masks than formulations, however, this serum was really solid despite the fragrance and dye. If you’re looking for a good, affordable Vitamin C serum, definitely check this one out!

Oh no! I think brands tend to add fragrance to vitamin C products because Vitamin C itself has a pretty funky smell…

I’m so glad this serum didn’t irritate your skin! I’m not sensitive to fragrances, but sometimes my skin can be a little wacky. This sounds like it would be worth a try though! I love the packaging!

Me too! I thought the fragrance was very refreshing, but I can see how it would be irritating to some. The packaging is super cute!

I Dew Care is such a cute name! It is a bummer that The Ordinary serum was a bust with irritation :(. It is great that Bright Side was easier on your skin. Always nice when serums don’t feel sticky!! I hate that feeling! Fragrance in skincare are typically hit or miss. It’s always great when skincare products work well with makeup! Glad you enjoyed using this serum. I need to do a better job with adding serums to my regiment!

I love the name “I Dew Care” as well! Many people go crazy for The Ordinary, but I’m not a huge fan honestly. I hate that sticky feeling as well! I completely agree about fragrance in skincare. I think brands typically add fragrance to vitamin C products because vitamin c on it’s own has kind of a musty smell. Thanks for reading Nancy!
