I couldn’t wait to try the Dr. Jart ceramidin cream after hearing so many great things about Dr. Jart’s ceramidin line. I’m already a huge fan of their ceramidin sheet mask so I had a good feeling about the cream since ceramides are incredible for hydrating dry skin and protecting the skin barrier. This was actually my first time trying a full sized Dr. Jart product as opposed to a sheet mask. Let’s get into today’s review to see if this moisturizer was a winner!

Consistency

The Dr. Jart ceramidin cream has a rich, buttery consistency. The cream feels very dense to the touch without having a greasy texture. It absorbs easily into the skin and leaves a luminous matte finish on the skin. I’ve noticed most ceramide moisturizers don’t have a dewy finish even though they are extremely hydrating. 

This moisturizer feels delightful on my dry skin! I am very picky about moisturizers since I have dry skin and I live in a dry desert climate. I love using a layer of Vaseline (slugging) over this moisturizer at night time to lock in the hydration!

Scent

The ceramidin cream is fragrance free making it safe for any who have sensitive skin or do not like fragranced beauty products. It truly has no detectable smell whatsoever. 

Highlighted Ingredient

Ceramides– a fatty acid naturally produced by the skin to retain moisture and protect the skin barrier. The Dr. Jart ceramidin cream contains their trademarked 5 cera-complex which is a blend of five ceramides to plump and moisturize the skin.

How does it perform under makeup?

This cream performed really well under makeup! I did not experience any pilling when I applied foundation or concealer. Since this cream has a luminous matte finish, I like using a dewy sunscreen or the Laura Mercier hydrating primer to give my makeup a dewy finish as well. Overall, this cream was great for makeup prep!

Price

The Dr. Jart ceramidin cream retails for $48. I typically stick  between $30-50 for my moisturizer budget so this one fits in. While I find this cream to be on the pricier side, it is well worth the money for a flawless cream!

Packaging

I did not experience any issues with the tube packaging! It was easy to squeeze out the last bit of product because the tube is soft and bendable. I also didn’t experience any spillage or problems with the lid coming off. The packaging is great!

Results

The Dr. Jart ceramidin cream easily makes my list of favorite creams for dry skin! I had such a great experience with this cream. It was such a lifesaver when I damaged my skin barrier with a high pH cleanser because it was hydrating and did not irritate my skin when it was sensitized. I loved this cream so much, I bought a second tube from the Sephora spring sale so it is already a favorite! I would highly recommend this cream to anyone who has normal to dry skin.
