I’m sharing the best beauty products of 2021 to celebrate the end of the year! There were many products I tried this year that were lackluster, but these are the six superstars I tried that I would repurchase in a heartbeat. Here are the best beauty products of 2021:
I had been dying to try the Dr. Jart ceramidin cream after having great experiences with their ceramidin sheet mask. The ceramidin cream is formulated with five types of ceramides to support and hydrate the skin barrier. This cream is made for extremely dry skin like mine which is perfect since I have a dry skin type and also live in a dry, desert climate. The ceramidin cream is ultimately one of my favorite creams for dry skin and it would also be a great fit for sensitive skin as well!
After trying the ceramidin cream, I really wanted to try more from Dr. Jart so I picked up the cicapair cream. This cream is extremely rich like the ceramidin cream with the added benefits of centella asiatica (aka cica). Cica soothes redness and irritation as well as antibacterial properties to prevent acne. While using this cream, I noticed an improvement in my acne and my skin felt very hydrated. I prefer this cream over the ceramidin cream, but I honestly love both! If you have oily or combo skin, I would recommend the lighter gel cream version of the cicapair cream.
One of the most important skincare lessons I learned this year is using a low pH cleanser is pertinent to the health of my skin barrier. I used a high pH cleanser (the Korres yoghurt cleanser) at the beginning of the year that destroyed my skin so I vowed to always use low pH cleansers in the future. The Shani Darden cleanser has a pH between 5-5.5 making it a very gentle cleanser that doesn’t strip my dry skin of moisture. This serum was very gentle yet effective for cleansing my skin at the end of each day.
Not all luxury beauty is worth the price tag, but the Estee Lauder vitamin C serum certainly is. My dry skin has been easily irritated by vitamin C serums in the past, but this serum was gentle and effective for treating the hyperpigmentation from post acne scarring. I use one pump of this serum each morning to fade hyperpigmentation. It also gives my skin an antioxidant boost to protect my skin from pollution during the day. Even though this serum is quite expensive, I’m impressed the bottle has lasted me close to a year!
I have been mentioning this palette quite a bit on the blog lately because I reach for this palette almost every time I do my makeup. These pastel shades are perfect for everyday glam and can be worn day or night. The shades are so pigmented and easy to blend out on the skin. I also love this palette because of its versatility of purples, pinks, blues, and metallic shimmers. Honestly, if I had to choose one palette to use for the rest of my life, I would probably pick this one.
After dealing with extremely brittle and dry hair from using the Olaplex duo, my hairdresser recommended the Oribe moisturizing shampoo and conditioner to me to revive my hair. This shampoo and conditioner blew me away and completely changed my hair. My hair feels so soft and silky while using this duo. I absolutely love the sexy pear scent of these Oribe products.
