I was so excited to try the Meebak cica cleanse duo because I absolutely love cica for treating my acne in a gentle and hydrating way. I was curious to see what cica infused toning pads and cleanser could do for my skin. Let’s get into today’s review of the Meebak cica cleanse duo!
*The cica cleanse duo was gifted to me by Meebak. All opinions are my own.
The highlighted ingredient in the gel to foam cleanser and the cleansing pads is cica. Cica is also known as centella asiatica which is a popular ingredient in Korean skincare that soothes redness and irritation. It also has antibacterial ingredients that are effective for treating acne in a gentle and hydrating way.
The name of this cleanser explains the consistency quite well! This cleanser is a clear moderately thick gel that turns into a nice foam when used on wet skin. This cleanser uses tea tree oil, willow bark extract, and of course cica to control acne and excess sebum production. While Meebak recommends this cleanser for all skin types, I would recommend it specifically for oily skin.
I personally have really dry skin and I live in a dry climate. I did not feel like this cleanser was harsh or overstripping, however, tea tree oil typically dehydrates my skin. This cleanser would be a great fit for oily and acne prone skin because the tea tree oil will help control excess sebum production and help combat acne with its antibacterial properties.
The Meebak cica cleanser smells amazing! The tea tree oil in the formula smells so refreshing and clean. While tea tree oil isn’t a great fit for my dry skin, I do truly love the smell. This cleanser does not have any added fragrance. I do not find the scent to be overpowering whatsoever.
This cleanser retails for $18 for 5.5 ounces ($3.30 per oz) on Meebak’s website. This cleanser stays true to affordable Korean skincare prices.
The Meebak cica cleanser comes in this beautiful olive colored pump bottle. I find this pump bottle to be very easy to use and it dispenses the perfect pump of cleanser. I like that this cleanser comes with a plastic pump latch so that the cleanser won’t spill for travel.
The cica cleansing water pads are made out of a thin, lightweight pad soaked in toner fluid. Along with the highlighted ingredient, cica, these also use blue agave extract to mattify oily skin. I was a little confused by the instructions on the pads. These are to be used after cleansing with the gel to foam cleanser. I was confused by the instruction to “rinse if desired”. After testing with both rinsing and leaving it on the skin as a toner, I found that I liked rinsing the product off better. These pads are a great way to sweep the skin after cleansing to make sure you didn’t miss any dirt or makeup residue during the water based cleanser step.
These cica pads have an incredible lavender scent! These pads smell absolutely delicious and have a fresh scent. Just light the gel to foam cleanser, these pads do not have any added fragrance. The lavender smell is on the stronger side, but it does not linger on the skin. If you are sensitive to strong smells or you dislike the smell of lavender, these probably aren’t for you.
The cica cleansing water pads retail for $19 for 80 pre-soaked pads on Meebak’s website. If you use these cleansing pads once a day at night, these will last you about 2 and a half months!
I have no complaints about the packaging of these cica cleansing pads. It is very easy to remove a pad from the jar. If you are extra concerned about hygiene, you could use some tweezers so you avoid touching the pads of your fingers.

Overall, the Meebak cica cleansing duo is not for me and my dry skin, but I think it would be an excellent fit for oily skin. I did not find the cleanser harsh in any way, but it is specifically designed for controlling oil production. Definitely give the Meebak cleansing duo a try if you have oily skin!

Hey Jill, I hope you’re doing well!
And thank you so much for your compliments in my latest blog post, really appreciate them!
I wouldn’t mind to try this brand, it seems like a perfect option for sensitive skins. The weather here is really humid but my skin tends to feel a little bit dry and sensitive during winter or a few days after shaving. So centella asiatica would be the perfect option not only to clean, but also to calm. I have heard a lot of good comments about this ingredient, so I wouldn’t mind but now I have to search for Meebak here in Europe.
Have a fantastic week ahead!

Cica is such a great option for sensitive skin! This cleansing duo would probably be a great fit for you in the summer then when the weather is hot and humid. I wish it was more humid here, but it’s always so dry here in the desert. I hope you are doing well too. Thanks for reading, Pablo!

Hey Jill! Hope you are having an amazing week so far 😀
I really enjoy Cica, although my skin is on a dry side like yours. Too bad these didn’t really suit your skin type. If I can recommend one thing to you, with Cica, that is Innisfree Balancing Cica Toner with Bija Seed Oil (white bottle). This toner has a milky consistency and zero scent. Really good for calming, hydrating the skin and also underneath serums and moisturizers. I think one bottle will last you a looong time too hah! xx

Thanks Naya! I asbolutely love cica too. I have had great experiences with the ingredient in the past, but I really found this cleanser and toning pads to be better suited to oily skin. I need to try that Innisfree toner! I absolutely love the brand, but I haven’t had a chance to try their toners yet. Thank you for the recommendation friend! <3
