Since it’s officially winter, I thought I would make a list of winter fashion essentials to stay cute AND warm this winter season. Where I live, it’s typically between 30 to 50 degrees in the day and even colder at night or when it’s snowing!
Waterproof Puffer Coat
I used to try to get by wearing a light jacket in the winter because I always hated how bulky warm coats are. Last year when I had to walk between classes in the snow, I finally decided a light jacket just wouldn’t cut it anymore.
I got this coat from Aritzia and I wear it just about everyday. They don’t carry the exact style I’m wearing, but it looks like their new super puff is even better! This coat is made from responsibly sourced goose down and it’s waterproof.
The thing I love the most about Aritzia coats is that they list what temperatures their coats can handle on their site. This one will keep you warm all the way down to -22 °F. They also offer 30 different colors in this coat!
Beanie
There’s nothing worse than the cold wind whipping against your frozen ears. My mom bought me this beanie from Free People for Christmas last year. Free People’s beanies are a little pricey, but they are so worth the splurge! The knit style of this beanie is very warm, but it’s even warmer because there’s a ring of fleece around the ears to keep them extra warm! Here’s a similar beanie from Free People.
Boots
While I love sneakers, they’re just not practical for winter weather. I really love wearing combat boots because they are so practical and comfortable! I don’t usually wear waterproof boots unless is snowing or raining. I really love my Steve Madden combat boots (not pictured) and I also saw these cute boots by Cliffs.
I always make sure to wear boots with tread so I don’t slip around on the ice. When it does snow, make sure to pick a waterproof pair. If you live in rainy climates, go with these Hunter rain boots. If you’re in a snowy climate, I thought these snow boots were cute.
Gloves
When it comes to gloves, I really love gloves from The North Face! I have a pair that I always keep in my coat pockets so I can whip them out whenever I need to. I found these cute running gloves from The North Face that are touchscreen friendly. They also have grips on them so your devices don’t slip out of your hands.
Warm Tights
One way to rock your loose summer jeans in the winter is to wear some tights under them! Since tights are thin, they won’t add any necessary bulk to your look and they’ll add just a little more warmth. I’m trying out these tights from Sheertex now!
I hope you found these winter weather essentials helpful! What are your must have winter fashion essentials?

ooh I got myself an Aritzia puffer this year and it was so warm!! (I got the meme mega puff haha). The super puff is also a great piece also I do prefer their mega puffer because it feels like you’re wearing a cloud. Also try out the UNIQLO heat tech lines. It truly is a godsend when you live in Canada like I do!

Looks you are ready for the hibernating season, and how cute is your beanie!
I like to buy colourful wool hats and statment tights to feel warm yet show a bit of my personality.
Have a good weekend.

I don’t have a puffer coat but love how they look! I should probably get one someday. However, I do have a collection of beanies! They’re so comfortable and stylish. You can never go wrong with warm tights either. Thanks for sharing all of these winter essentials!
